Revelation 17

(an Explaination)

(my EMPHASIS in brackets embedded [ ])

This entire chapter of Revelation 17 identifies the Roman Catholic Church System that will deceive the entire world through her traditions and "false wine" doctrines. All the modern Protestant churches pay homage to the Church of Rome by keeping her traditions over God's truth. The apostle John on Patmos was given in vision this "great whore" end-time church known in Revelation as the following: Revelation 13:1 the "sea beast". Rev 17:1 the "great whore", and Rev 17:5 Mystery Babylon the Great the MOTHER of HARLOTS and an ABOMINATION before God.

Many won't admit this because many are Roman Catholic who may read this, but I am not dissing Catholic Christians who are sincere and live up to the truth they understand from the word of God. Mary was NOT immaculate, she was a sinner just like all the rest of us, she is NOT to be held above the Son of God. Mary today lies in her grave awaiting the resurrection when Jesus returns. The "wine" i.e. false doctrines of the Catholic Church System is leading the entire world astray. Those last day fake worldly Christians "whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world" will behold her destruction Rev 17:8 And in Rev  18:21-24 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.  And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;  And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.  And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters. [The issue here is "judgment" pronounced upon the "great whore" that, misleads many people. Since we know this is the explanation of (the judgment) on the great whore, we must ask "who is the great whore and why is she called a great whore?"In Bible prophecy, a "woman" is used to represent the church. The virtuous woman in Revelation 12:1 represents the apostolic church Jesus established. She is the opposite as being virtuous in comparison the this "great whore" who is the opposite of being virtuous or monogamous to Jesus Christ. It is an apostate church fornicating with the world and is as such called the "great whore" a church in apostasy against God.] This is (then) the judgment pronounced upon the apostate church of the end-times]

Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

[Here is identified the world leaders who interact with the "great whore" apostate church. The world at large specified by the phrase "inhabitants of the earth" are all those who are NOT world leaders or in position of political power. The issue here is that of "fornication" and since it is speaking of a church, it's a church fornicating with the world. In prophecy the word "wine" represents "doctrine" so this great whore is spewing out "false doctrine" that the kings of the Earth and its inhabitants are all swallowing down as kool-aid a deadly mixture that makes them spiritually drunk unable to discern truth from error.]

Rev 17:3 So he [the Angel] carried me away in the spirit [In Vision] into the wilderness:[the World] and I saw a woman [a Church] sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, [a Red Dragon Rev 12:3 and behold a great red dragon] full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. [Here we can see a church solely controlled by Satan himself operating in the world preaching false doctrines to the kings of the earth and its inhabitants i.e. the world.]

Rev 17:4 And the woman [this Church] was arrayed [Dressed] in purple and scarlet colour, [The ONLY church on earth that uses these two colors in their hierarchy is the Catholic Church. The BISHOPS wear "purple" and the CARDINALS wear "scarlet" colors] and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, [It's a very RICH church as well] having a golden cup in her hand [Catholics use this golden cup in every MASS] full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. [She is seen by God as "filthy" and 'fornicating" spiritually in her practice as a church]

Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. [The Catholic Church takes pride in calling herself the MOTHER of all Protestant churches who are her HARLOT daughters keeping her "spoiled wine doctrines" called traditions making all the churches spiritually drunk before God.]

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman [This same Church] drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: [It was the Catholic Church responsible for 50 million plus martyrs during the Dark Ages of history] and when I saw her, [In her "the church's "APOSTATE" condition] [John says] I wondered with great admiration. [NOT that John admired her, the translators should have used the word amazement. Admiration as used here means that John was in agreement with her "judgement" admiration also means favorable judgment]

Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. [The mystery of the apostate church, the beast on which she rides. The woman i.e. church is also called in Revelation 13:1 the "sea beast".So the apostate "great whore" church here and the "sea beast" of Revelation 13:1 are one in the same entity.]Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [NOTE: Both the fornicating "great whore" of Rev 17:1 and the "sea beast" of Rev 13:1 have "seven heads and ten horns" so they are in in the same or the "great whore sea beast"]

Rev 17:8 The beast [Roman Catholocism] that thou sawest was, [Pagan Rome prior to Napoleon's defeat in 1798] and is not; [After 1798] and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, [the GRAVE or be a false resurrection] and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth [the Entire World] shall wonder, [Follow After] whose names were not written in the book of life [In other words FAKE CHRISTIANITY] from the foundation of the world, when they behold [LOOK TO] the beast that was, [Prior to 1798 A.D.] and is not, [For 131 Years after 1798] and yet is.[After the Lateran Treaty of 1929.] 1929-1798 = 131 years she lie dormant in the bottomless pit which is the prophetic term used for the GRAVE. When she came back in 1929 it was Satans mimic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ in this resurrected Roman Catholic Church entity.]

Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. [Rome is known as the city of Seven Hills of which the Vatican sits atop of Capitoline Hill]

Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings:[Kings is used prophetically for Empires] five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. [The "seven kings" or "Empires" are as follows 1. Assyria, 2. Egypt, 3. Babylon, 4. Medo-Persia, 5. Greece, 6. Pagan Rome, 7. Papal Rome.] [The FIVE that have fallen are 1. Assyria, 2. Egypt, 3. Babylon, 4. Medo-Persia, 5. Greece. The one (that IS in John's time) was "Pagan Rome" who had him boiled in oil, then banished to the Island of Patmos to die there. The one that is "not yet come" was far into the future from John's day and would be "Papal Rome" established through the Lateran Treaty of 1929 A.D.] When he comes and the use of the word "he" here denotes a "male leader" of this one to come, and compared to the time between John's day from that time some 1831 years into the future from John's day who died in 98 A.D. to Papal Rome' rise to power in 1929 A.D. as both an ecclesial and political power mixing Church and State together, would continue a short space. So far she has existed for 91 years since 1929. A short space indeed compared to the 1831 years elapsed between John's day in 98 A.D. and 1929 A.D.]

Rev 17:11 And the beast [Pagan Roman Catholocism] that was, [Before Napoleon's defeat of Rome] and is not, [After Napoleon's defeat for 131 years from 1798-1929 A.D.] even he [The Same Apostate Roman Catholic System] is the eighth, [Revived under the Lateran Treaty in 1929 and became the EIGHTH] and is of the seven, [the Original SEVEN "revived as the EIGHT but is the same "great whore church system] and goeth into perdition. [Will be destroyed by the Hand of God]

Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [Here we get the explanation of the "ten horns" a horn in bible prophecy denotes a "leader i.e a political power i.e. a king" these "ten horns were the ten Barbiarian Tribes of ancient Europe known as the 1. FRANKS, 2. VISIGOTHS, 3. LOMBARDS, 4. SUEVI, 5. ALEMANNI, 6. ANGLO-SAXONS, 7. BURGUNDIANS, 8. HERULI, 9. VANDALS, 10, OSTROGOTHS. The areas of these ten barbarian tribes morphed into what we call today Modern Europe. They have never been cohesive together nor will they ever be according to God's word in Daniel 2:43 states: And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. The prophecy clearly states that Modern Europe will receive power with the "great whore" apostate church for about two weeks or "one" prophetic hour which is 15 literal days.]

Rev 17:13 These have one mind, [Europe and the Vatican will have "one purpose they both agree upon "one mind"] and shall give their [Military] power and strength unto the beast. [The Vatican, Sea Beast, Great Whore, apostate church]

Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. [This apostate great whore sea beast church "makes war with the Lamb" through her apostate "wine" doctrines and traditions. This is a spiritual war not a literal was with Jesus the Lamb. This is a war of apostasy being fought today as I write this essay. But as the verse says "the Lamb shall overcome them" Jesus WINS in the end]

Rev 17:15 And he [the Angel] saith unto me, The waters [The waters here is synonymous with the rise of the sea beast in Rev 13:1"saw a beast rise up out of the sea" or among the people earth inhabitants] which thou sawest, where the whore [Apostate Roman Catholic Church] sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [The entire world's inhabitants]

Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, [Eventually at the very end when the plagues fall Modern Europe will turn against the Vatican and destroy it along with its apostate worship practices.] and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

Rev 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, [This is NOT my analogy friends, this is God's WILL] and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, [Europe will take the side of the Beast until God's will for this world is closing] until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

Rev 17:18 And the woman [The Church] which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. [VATICAN CITY that sits on Capitoline Hill one of the seven hills of Rome with its leader the pope of Rome reigns over the Earth as was exhibited when the pope spoke in the American Congress session, and the United Nations world leaders. It is the only world city who has a leader that can go into any nation on earth unannounced and have the "red carpet" rolled out before him.
