Coming to Christ!
Coming to Christ
What does this mean? What does it mean for any individual
to "Come" to Jesus Christ?
You have heard it said many, many, times the phrase "Ask Jesus to Come into Your life" and accept Him as your Savior and according to John 3:16 you will be saved. But is this really (how one) comes to Christ? For some, it may be, but we don't have Jesus Christ by asking Him to come into our lives, that's NOT how it's done, friends. We don't ask Him to (come into our life) we surrender to ALREADY being IN HIM in His life and we therefore by FAITH before and afterward are willingly allowing Him to "impute" His (holy) already accomplished perfect life IN US.
You have been taught
all your life that (we ask Jesus Christ to come into our life) and that
is NOT correct folks. We are ALREADY "IN HIM" but we
must accept this "objective truth" by faith which is "Justification
by Faith" in order to have Him as our Lord as a subjective, experiential, sanctifying, presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit.
The phrase "in Christ" is found in the New Testament 78 times. The phrase "in Christ Jesus" is found some 40 times and the phrase "in Jesus Christ" is found 4 times and the phrase "in Him" is found 70 times. The phrase "in the Beloved" is found 1 time. The phrase "in Jesus" is found 7 times. 200 hundred references in the New Testament that in context verifies that the believer who comes to the point of accepting the "objective facts" of the gospel which is the perfect "holy history" of Jesus Christ His incarnation, birth, life, death, and resurrection on our behalf acknowledges that they are IN CHRIST and He then becomes their surety and guarantee of eternal life which is IN HIM imputed to the believer who comes to Him.
This is what Jesus meant when He stated Mat 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (I'll HELP you understand what I have already done for you) Take my yoke (My obedience as YOUR own) upon you, and learn of (About) me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. (Once You Understand) For my yoke (My obedience as YOUR own) is easy, (For I AM the I AM and I have already done it for YOU) and my burden is light. (Because I have SUCCEEDED already by FAITH for YOU.)
We GO to Him, He then through our "faith" in His already accomplished "Redemptive work of Salvation" through the "another Comforter" the Holy Sprit sent after His ascension back to heaven the "Holy Spirit" then lives His (Christ) life in and through (US). Jesus does NOT "Come into Us" until AFTER we GO to HIM FIRST and accept the FACTS by FAITH that we are all ready "IN HIM." This is what it means to surrender your life to HIM.
Once that takes place you have experienced the New Birth because YOU as an individual have chosen to "die" IN HIM, and accept His sacrificial death for YOU on the Cross as your "personal" freewill experiential death to self and sin IN HIM.
This is what Paul
meant when he stated Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I
live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the
flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me. NOTICE: It's by "the faith of the Son of God"
NOT your faith that saved you (past tense).
We have all been taught a (reverse order) by the apostate churches of today the exact opposite to the reality of the issue of surrendering to Jesus Christ. One does NOT ask Jesus Christ to "Come into their Life" one chooses to GO into His already accomplished and perfect "holy life" that has already on our behalf been accomplished on the Cross and met the just demands of the "law of God" which requires a "perfect obedience" of which Jesus lived out on our behalf and the just penalty of "transgression" against that same law through His "eternal second death" experience on the Cross for fallen humanity.
Many today who claim
Christianity claims a (false gospel) one taught by men and women that the bible doesn't teach, it's a (false
gospel) "a gospel of their own making" basically through ignorance of
their teachings and the "omissions" of scripture truth. They do this
because that is what they have been taught. Yet the scripture is clear that
"salvation" lies in and through Jesus Christ alone, not
through church doctrines.
When Nicodemus during the night spoke with Jesus, Jesus told him John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:4(a) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Jesus replied John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
What did Jesus mean by this statement?
To be "born of water and the spirit", the word "of" in the cursive is added by the translators. What does it mean to be "born of water and the spirit?" Is this statement speaking only of baptism and the regeneration that comes through the spirit indwelling the believer?
Or does it have a
"dual meaning?" Was Jesus actually telling Nicodemus that it
was "his baptism and his spirit" that brings the "new
birth" experience once the true "gospel" is recognized
and understood by the one who comes to Jesus Christ and surrenders
to His accomplished work, through His perfect life and obedience?
YES ABSOLUTELY!
Baptism in itself saves
NO ONE, and it washes away NO SINFUL nature. It is an outward
expression of an "inner change" "made by the Holy Spirit through a personal choice" through the
work of the Holy Spirit of God drawing YOU to God in the one who comes to Jesus
Christ and is symbolic of the death to the "old" and resurrection
to the "new" life in Jesus Christ.
NO person can of themselves just decide to be a Christian because they believe it's the right thing to do, that is self-deception. Jesus clearly told us: John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Then Jesus reveals
the truth of the issue John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is
flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. TWO
separate personalities then reside within the believer, the natural
condition of man, and the regenerated (spirit) through the Holy Spirit
in the "spirit of man." Just as Jesus had (two) distinct
and separate personalities one human i.e. (the FLESH) the other
the divine, (Son of God) the regenerated believer carries (two)
distinct personalities one natural, the other spiritual. ONLY one
of these two can be redeemed that of the
spiritual, the natural man must be destroyed and will be destroyed or changed
if the obedient is faithful to the end and translated at the Second Coming.
This truth can only be accepted by "faith alone" for it's a heavenly truth. Before one comes to Jesus, they consist of only one natural condition, that of fallen condemned humanity destined for eternal death and forever separated from their Creator. After one makes the decision to (GO TO) Jesus Christ "as they are being drawn through the Spirit of God", and accept His already accomplished work of redemption, die unto themselves that they might LIVE IN HIM, and HE IN THEM then the individual has become like their "master" and now has (two distinct) personalities just as He carried within Himself. One the natural condition cannot be redeemed it must be destroyed, the spiritual however within the person has ALREADY been redeemed by Jesus on the Cross and is imputed and imparted throughout the life of the willing and obedient servant of God.
This is the New Birth experience and the believer who comes to Jesus has now moved from death unto life IN CHRIST. The believer doesn't ask Jesus to come into their life, the true believer "goes" to Christ when called and accepts His life as their own, and in the process is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, as they walk in the Spirit and obey in the accomplished work of Jesus ALREADY completed on their behalf on the cross. In doing so the contrite, humble, servant of the Lord realize's that NOTHING they may do after they COME plays any part in their "salvation" even their obedience to God after they come plays NO PART in their salvation because the only "obedience" acceptable to God is the obedience of the Son alone, and no true Christian will see their own obedience as having any merit towards their salvation ALREADY accomplished IN CHRIST. It's HIS obedience alone imputed and imparted to the one who comes to Jesus Christ.
You can struggle if you choose to live an acceptable life before God if you choose to attempt it, but when you do you have made the life of Christ for you of none effect. Only when you understand and rest in His already accomplished work through His incarnation, birth, life, death, and resurrection as YOUR OWN life, death, and resurrection and "spiritual rebirth" IN HIM after You come to Him are you standing in the Grace of God.
Many today who claim
to be Christian don't understand heavenly truth and this is why Jesus said John
3:11,12 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify
that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly
things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of
heavenly things? What and how you "believe" plays a tremendous
role in "believing!" This is why God spoke through the prophet
Hosea Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,
that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy
God, I will also forget thy children. IT WAS THAT LAW THAT REQUIRED THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST!
It was because of the
"law of God" i.e. that same law that existed on Earth from the
time of its creation and written by the "finger of God" in STONE
given as a tangible visible "law" to humanity at Horeb i.e. Sinai
that Jesus had to die the "eternal SECOND death" on the Cross the
just demand of the "BROKEN" law. Sin is the transgression of the Law of God.
Since Jesus died to sin and conquered "sin in the flesh" to
satisfy the just demands of that law. 1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin
transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Since every "born again" believer is still a "sinner" by nature, and because that "sinful nature" (the Old Man Paul called it) cannot be redeemed it must be destroyed (either at death or at the Resurrection when it is changed from corruption to incorruption) verifies that the "Law of God" is always in force over a person as long as they are alive. Rom 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Why then does YOUR church teach you that the "law of God" was nailed to the Cross of Jesus Christ, when it was the same "law" that required His perfect life and sacrificial death in your place. They do this because they for one they can't understand the "grace of God" they preach and they are blind to the truth as it is IN CHRIST. The problem is that Christianity today is a Christianity of their own making it's not the Christianity that Jesus established in the 1st century.
Does the knowledge of OR the requirements of God's Law do anything towards your salvation? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It's because of that law that YOU as a sinner have a knowledge of the SINFUL NATURE in which you were born and bear ALL your life. Is the perfect obedience required by that law necessary to dwell in the presence of God? YES ABSOLUTELY!
Can a human being
keep that law in and of themselves by striving to keep it? ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Then how can anyone then be saved? The answer is IN CHRIST ALONE.
It is only through His perfect obedience to the "Law of God"
meeting the just demands of "perfect conduct" of that
law. And by JESUS CHRIST meeting the just requirements that demand's death of the one who
transgresses that law which is "eternal second death" that
any servant of God keeps the law, yet because it's required to qualify
for heaven, it is kept in and through Jesus Christ alone, NOT by YOU
the believer!
EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN "KEEPS THE LAW OF GOD" AND EVERY PHONY ONE AS WELL!
Every believer in Christ keeps the Law of God whether they believe it or not, Yet most believers I have spoken too are reluctant to identify themselves with the Law of God because their respective preachers and churches (CRINGE) at the very thought of the Law of God as a part of their Christian experience because they have been taught a "false gospel" of the all-accepting Grace of God, and know NOT that they keep the Law of God by their very state of being a Christian. Yes, God's GRACE and His Spirit is conditional! Act 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
The "law" for the believer, however, is required as much as possible by the believer for Christian living. The believer in Jesus Christ has only one God, 1st commandment.
They have no desire to construct any "graven image" in the place of God the 2nd commandment. They will not say they are something they are NOT and portray a "vain" belief the 3rd commandment.
The true Christian will keep God's holy seventh day to worship the 4th commandment. They will honor their parents all the days of their lives the 5th commandment. The true Christian will certainly not take anyone's life, especially the "spiritual aspect" the 6th commandment
. They will NOT commit physical adultery but will make every effort to certainly NOT commit "spiritual adultery of fornication" against God or man the 7th commandment. The true Christian will NOT steal from others, and will especially NOT steal from God by withholding their 10% tithes, the 8th commandment. The true Christian will and should certainly never wilfully LIE, of bare a false witness the 9th commandment. And the true Christian will never COVET or take for granted even their own relationship with God and will see themselves as a "brand plucked from the fire" the 10th commandment.
Whether today's Christian want to admit it or NOT if they are sincere Christians MUST admit that they "keep God's commandments" or they are LIARS and do not belong to God. Yet all modern-day church members ALL say that the Law of God was nailed to the cross and is no longer necessary for the believer in Christ. Their very claim then REVEALS them as a false Christians.
When we "Come to Jesus Christ" and understand what it is that He has ALREADY accomplished FOR US and that when He did them, that we DID THEM with Him by being IN HIM as HE DID THEM, that the assurance of personal salvation is understood. Then "the peace of God" that passes all human understanding comes in like a flood to the spirit and "absolute assurance" is then the joy of the believer who trusts in the finished work of Jesus on their behalf. Jesus didn't just die as a substitute in your place (singular) who accepts His sacrifice, He died as the whole of humanity (Corporately) in that substitutional sacrifice.
All humanity was saved (past tense) in Jesus Christ, but NOT all humanity will be saved (future tense) because it must be an "accepted salvation" on the individual level in the (present tense) and maintained by and through the Holy Spirit's presence within you so that your final hope of the "gospel" which is "your glorification" will culminate in your redemption from this Earth at the Second Coming of Jesus in the First resurrection.
The WATCHMAN!
